Because it is. You're getting your hair done while your friends are losing it laughing in the next room. You're off taking portraits during cocktail hour while your guests are already trading stories about you over drinks. Two people can't be everywhere at once — even at their own wedding.
Honestly, that's the whole job. Not just the ceremony and the first dance — sticking around for the parts nobody plans for, so you get to see what you missed the first time around.

We're not going to spend your day pulling you through forty variations of the same pose. Most of what ends up in your film and your gallery is what happens when nobody's paying attention to us — you and your dad losing it over an inside joke, the look on your partner's face during the vows, your grandmother's hug that lasts just a little longer than everyone else's.
That doesn't mean we disappear completely — we'll still get you into the right light at the right time, and gently guide the handful of portraits every couple wants. And if you're camera shy, that's most people; we build in a few minutes early on just to get you comfortable with us being there, so the rest of the day doesn't feel like it's being performed for a lens.

Camera shy is normal. We spend the first few minutes just getting you used to us being around, so it stops feeling like a shoot.

You'll have a few favourites and a social-media teaser trailer to share within days of the wedding. Full delivery is as little as 2-4 weeks in the off-season, or 8-12 weeks during peak wedding season.
No rotating roster of contractors — the people you talk to now are the people who show up on the day. Most couples end up hiring a videographer and a photographer who've never worked together before, learning your timeline for the first time on the day itself. Jason and Erin work as a team at every wedding they shoot.
I've been making films since I was a kid — my earliest "work" was a series of very low-budget, rip-off Buffy the Vampire Slayer shorts, and I like to think I've improved a bit since then. I spent ten years as an animator in TV and film before also pointing a camera at weddings. Eight years and over 50 weddings later, I still think of myself as a storyteller who happens to carry a camera — and I shoot and edit every film myself.
I've been a wedding photographer for almost 10 years, and it's truly been such an honour — I love documenting the small, precious moments and handing them back as memories you can cherish forever. To me it's all about connection and being present in the moment, so I'm not above making myself look a little silly to get a real laugh out of the group. Off the clock, you'll usually find me dancing around the kitchen to 70's classics or curled up watching a movie with my dog, Louie.

In most instances we do not charge for travel. Weddings located within a reasonable distance to Hamilton, ON incur no travel fees. However, if your venue location requires us to stay overnight in a hotel then travel fees would be added.
We prefer to capture the day in a natural, candid way as much as possible. There are of course certain times when posing is required to get the best possible photos of you and your partner and with your family, but we do our best to keep posing to a minimum throughout the day and capture exactly what is happening in front of our camera.
We strive to deliver everything in a very timely manner. During off-season we can deliver everything in as little as 2-4 weeks. During peak-season it is usually more like 8-12 weeks. We also keep our couples in the loop and provide updates when we can, so you have a good idea when to expect your final products.
At the moment it is always Jason capturing the videography and Erin taking photos. Currently we don't outsource the shooting of the day to anyone else. This may change if our company grows, but at this time it is the two of us capturing your day.
Because every wedding is unique, we prefer not to put a time limit on the edits we create. However, most will typically fall somewhere between 5-7 minutes long. Some weddings have many aspects to the day — sit-down home video footage of the couple, interviews, activities with the wedding party during the morning, personal vows, fireworks, and so on — which can result in a longer edit. Other weddings are a bit simpler and intimate with fewer things happening throughout the day, which can result in a shorter edit. Rest assured, when editing a film we always strive to include as many important moments as we can while keeping the pacing entertaining.
This is everything captured from your entire day, start to finish, edited in chronological order. We sync up all of our cameras with professional-quality audio during events like the ceremony and speeches so you get the best possible viewing experience. The film can be anywhere from 90 minutes to 3+ hours, depending how long your ceremony and speeches are and how long we're there for in the morning.
